The challenge
Compiling terminal reports took the assessment office most of a week. Teachers submitted marks on paper, which were entered twice — once into a spreadsheet and again onto printed report cards. Fee balances were kept separately by the bursar, so parents regularly disputed figures the school could not quickly evidence.
What we built
Teachers now enter continuous assessment and exam marks directly, against their own class lists. Reports compute using the school's existing grading scheme and print in the school's established format, so nothing looked unfamiliar to staff or parents.
A parent portal exposes results, attendance and a live fee statement, with SMS alerts when a term's fees fall due.
The outcome
Report generation went from five working days to under thirty minutes. Fee disputes fell sharply once parents could see a dated statement, and the bursar's office stopped rebuilding balances by hand each term.
